Timothy S. Howard, M.D.

Timothy S. Howard, M.D. received his B.A. Degree in chemistry from Colgate University in 1990 and his M.D. from the University of Vermont College of Medicine in 1995. He completed an internship at the Greater Baltimore Medicare Center in 1996. He then completed his residency in Diagnostic Radiology at the State University of New York Health Science Center in Syracuse in 2000 where he also served as Chief Resident in Radiology.

Dr. Howard has been an attending radiologist at Penn Medicine Princeton Medical Center and a member of Princeton Radiology Associates since 2000. Dr. Howard is a member of the Radiological Society of North America, Radiology Society of New Jersey, and International Society of Clinical Densitometry.

Samuel Greene, M.D.

Samuel Greene received his B.A. cum laude in Biological Basis of Behavior from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia in 2005. He went on to obtain his M.D. in 2009 from UMDNJ Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Brunswick, New Jersey. Dr. Greene completed a residency in diagnostic radiology in 2014 at Rutgers – UMDNJ, where he was elected Chief Resident and awarded the Randall L. Siegel Award for Compassion and Excellence in Radiology. He also completed a fellowship in 2015 in vascular and interventional radiology at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland.

Dr. Greene has been a member of Princeton Radiology and an attending physician at Penn Medicine Princeton Medical Center since July 2015.

He is a member of the Society of Interventional Radiology. Dr. Greene has also been published in Vascular Medicine and the Journal of Vascular and Interventional Radiology.

Rik S. Sen, M.D. received her Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery in 1989 and a Diploma in Medical Radiological Diagnosis in 1990 at BJ Medical College at the University of Pune in India. As part of these degree certifications, Dr. Sen completed an internship at BJ Medical College and Sassoon General Hospital in Pune, India, followed by a residency with the Department of Radiology, KEM Hospital, Pune, India in 1993. She was Board certified with an MD and DNB in Radiology. After completing her USMLE studies in the United States, she was accepted for an internship in Internal Medicine at Helene Fuld Medical Center in Trenton, New Jersey, which she completed in 1997. Dr. Sen continued her medical education in the U.S. with a Radiology Residency at Morristown Memorial Hospital and, in June 2001, she entered a Fellowship program in Cross Sectional Body Imaging at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Dr. Sen received her certification from the American Board of Radiology in 2001, and was appointed to the position of staff radiologist at Princeton Radiology Associates in September of 2002. She is also an Associate Radiologist for the Department of Radiology, University Medical Center of Princeton at Plainsboro, New Jersey.

Jonathan A. Lebowitz, M.D.

President

Jonathan A. Lebowitz received his B.A. degree (magna cum laude) from the University of Pennsylvania in 1987 and his M.D. from Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in 1991. He interned at St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, New Jersey, and completed his residency in diagnostic radiology at New York University Medical Center in Manhattan. Dr. Lebowitz completed a fellowship in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) at NYU the following year, during which time he was also clinical assistant professor of radiology.

He is currently an attending radiologist at Penn Medicine Princeton Medical Center.

In addition to his clinical activities, Dr Lebowitz has served as President of Princeton Radiology since 2014.

Dr. Lebowitz is certified by the National Board of Medical Examiners and the American Board of Radiology, and is a member of the American College of Radiology, the American Roentgen Ray Society and Alpha Omega Alpha national medical honor society.

Matthew C. Difazio, M.D.

Matthew C. Difazio, M.D. attended Johns Hopkins University, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Biology in 1988, and graduating with Dean’s List honors. Dr. Difazio earned his medical degree from the University of Michigan in 1992. While in Ann Arbor, he also performed basic science research in the receptor autoradiology of Parkinson’s disease, which was published in the journal Neurology.

Dr. Difazio completed his residency in Diagnostic Radiology in 1996 at the University of Chicago Hospitals, where he was a Chief Resident. While in Chicago, his research focused on the use of computer subtraction techniques as applied to thoracic radiology, which was published in the journal Radiology. He also studied the use of advanced 3-Dimensional volume rendering techniques as applied to CT datasets, which was presented at the Annual Meeting of the Association of University Radiologists.

Dr. Difazio received specialty board certification in Diagnostic Radiology from the American Board of Radiology in 1996.

Dr. Difazio did his post-graduate fellowship in MRI, CT, and Ultrasound at Thomas Jefferson University in 1997, with emphasis on ultrasound guided procedures.

Dr. Difazio is a member in good standing of the American Roentgen Ray Society, American College of Radiology and Radiological Society of North America.

Dr. Difazio joined Princeton Radiology in 1998.

Since joining Princeton Radiology, Dr. Difazio has participated as an expert panel reader in 17 clinical trials covering breast cancer, colorectal cancer, GI stromal tumors, lymphoma, ovarian cancer, renal cell carcinoma, and melanoma.

Julia T. De Sanctis, M.D.

Julia T. De Sanctis, M.D. is a graduate of Harvard Medical School where she received her medical degree in 1991. Her post-doctoral training includes an internship in Medicine at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts and Residency in Radiology at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts.

Dr. De Sanctis continued her medical training with two years of clinical fellowships at Massachusetts General Hospital in the fields of Abdominal Imaging and Intervention, and Vascular and Interventional Radiology, ending in 1998. During her fellowship period she received licensure and certification from The American Board of Radiology, The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Board of Registration of Medicine.

Dr. De Sanctis’s hospital staff appointments include Clinical Assistant in Radiology for Massachusetts General Hospital in 1996; Affiliate of the Department of Radiology for St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center in 1996, and Staff Radiologist for the Diagnostic Radiology Lahey Clinic in Burlington, Massachusetts in 1998.

During her years of education and post-doctoral training, Dr. De Sanctis served on major radiology committees and has held several academic appointments, including Harvard and Tufts Medical Schools. Dr. De Sanctis has also written numerous reviews and educationally relevant publications.

She joined Princeton Radiology Associates in 2001 as Staff Radiologist, as well as an Associate Radiologist at the Penn Medicine Princeton Medical Center. Her professional memberships include the Radiological Society of North America, American Roentgen Ray Society, and Society of Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiology.

Gerard A. Compito, M.D.

Gerard A. Compito is a graduate of Columbia University and SUNY Upstate Medical University, where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha National Medical Honor Society. He interned at North Shore University Hospital and Memorial-Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. He completed his residency in Diagnostic Radiology at New York Presbyterian Medical Center-Cornell, where he also trained at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and the Hospital for Special Surgery. He served as Chief Resident, and then continued as Fellow in Neuroradiology.

Dr. Compito has been a member of Princeton Radiology and an attending physician at Penn Medicine Princeton Medical Center since 1992. He has been the co-director of MRI at Penn Medicine Princeton Medical Center. He has been a member of the Credentials Committee at Penn Medicine Princeton Medical Center since 1998. He has served as Vice-President and President of the Penn Medicine Princeton Health Medical Staff, and as a member of both the Penn Medicine Princeton Health Board of Trustees and Foundation.

Dr. Compito has been a consultant on multiple clinical cancer treatment trials monitored by radiologic studies for Radpharm and CoreLabPartners. This included studies on brain tumors, lymphoma, breast cancer, gastrointestinal cancer, and prostate cancer.

Dr. Compito is a member of the American College of Radiology, a senior member of the American Society of Neuroradiology, the American Society of Spine Radiology, and the Radiological Society of North America. He has taught at New York Presbyterian Medical Center-Cornell and Memorial-Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. He also has a teaching appointment at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.

Fred H. Schlesinger, M.D. received a B.S. in chemical engineering from Princeton University and an M.S. in biomedical engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he was nominated to Sigma Xi. He went on to obtain his M.D. degree from George Washington University School of Medicine in Washington, D.C. Dr. Schlesinger interned at University of Chicago Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois. He completed a Diagnostic Radiology Residency at New York University Medical Center, in New York, NY, and a Body Imaging Fellowship at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA.

Dr. Schlesinger worked for Quakerbridge Radiology Associates for 20 years before joining Princeton Radiology in 2014.

David C. Youmans, M.D. received his B.A., with distinction, from Stanford University in 1985. Following four years as a decorated officer in the United States Navy, he spent a year performing medical research at the Cardiovascular Research Institute of the University of California, San Francisco. He received his M.D. degree from the University of California, San Diego in 1994. Dr. Youmans completed his diagnostic radiology residency at the Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology at Washington University, in St. Louis, Missouri, and was subsequently appointed as an instructor in Diagnostic Radiology and fellow in Vascular and Interventional Radiology at Yale University. During his fellowship at Yale, he was also appointed as an attending physician at the Veterans Administration Hospital in West Haven, Connecticut. Dr. Youmans currently holds an appointment as attending radiologist at Penn Medicine Princeton Health Care System. He has been a member of Princeton Radiology Associates since 1999.

Dr. Youmans has been certified by the National Board of Medical Examiners and has been Board Certified as a diagnostic radiologist by the American Board of Radiology. In addition, he has been awarded a Certificate of Added Qualification in Vascular and Interventional Radiology. He has published research articles in a number of leading medical journals and made presentations at a variety of local, state and national meetings, in addition to being involved in radiology-based research investigating new drugs. Dr. Youmans was recently appointed to the Editorial Board of the Journal of Applied Radiology.

Dr. Youmans is a member of the Society of Interventional Radiology, the American College of Radiology, the Radiology Society of North America, the American Medical Association, and the American Roentgen Ray Society. He also serves on the Board of Directors for RAD-AID, an organization dedicated to increasing and improving radiology resources in the developing and impoverished countries around the world. He was awarded the prestigious honor of Fellowship in the American College of Radiology in 2015.

Dr. Youmans is Chairman of Advocacy for the American College of Radiology, the Past President of the Radiological Society of New Jersey, and Immediate Past Chairman of the Department of Radiology for Penn Medicine Princeton Health Care System.

Christopher L. Ananian received a B.A. in Biology and a B.S. in Exercise Science from The State University of Rutgers in 2000. He went on to obtain his M.D. from UMDNJ New Jersey Medical School in 2004. Dr. Ananian interned at Graduate Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and was a Diagnostic Imaging Resident at Hospital of Saint Raphael in New Haven, Connecticut. He also completed a Fellowship in Breast/Body Imaging at Yale – New Haven Hospital in New Haven, Connecticut.

Dr. Ananian has been a member of Princeton Radiology Associates and an attending physician at Penn Medicine Princeton Medical Center since July 2010.

He is a member of several medical societies and professional organizations including Radiology Society of North America, American College of Radiology and the American Medical Association. He also serves as co-chair on the executive committee for breast imaging for the Radiological Society of New Jersey
